On Wednesday evening, January 11th 2017, members of the Zonta Club of Berkeley participated in a unique advocacy event to highlight the tragedy of human trafficking in our community. Sponsored by the Alameda County District Attorney’s office and the H.E.A.T. Watch program, as well as working with students from Berkeley High School and the Mayor’s Office, members of the community were invited to sprinkle red sand in the cracks of the sidewalks of downtown Berkeley near City Hall to bring attention to the misery of young people who are the victims of trafficking.
